Three action-packed days at UKREiiF are over in a flash.
Humber Freeport made its debut at the conference this year, having officially launched less than a year ago.
In that short time, we’ve already seen significant investments announced at freeport tax sites in the Humber.
From Pensana’s rare earth facility at Saltend Chemicals Park near Hull, to Metsä Tissue’s proposed paper tissue mill in Goole, investors from across the world are looking at the Humber, and making it as their location of choice.
UKREiiF provided Humber Freeport with a platform to talk about those investments, as well as the vital broader contribution we are making to areas such as skills, innovation, employment and supply chain growth.
The conference also highlighted the positive impact investment can have on social mobility, driving regeneration and transforming peoples’ lives.

Jo Barnes, Managing Director at Sewell Estates and a Humber Freeport board member, joined a panel of experts to discuss how to deliver world-class social infrastructure – from future-proofing education to improving healthcare estates.

Over the three days, we’ve spoken alongside leading voices in property, planning, investment and ports, and questions from the audience have demonstrated the interest there is in the Humber as a world-leading cluster for decarbonisation and green energy.
If we had one message to share after our visit to UKREiiF, it would be this … collaboration is key.
We attended UKREiiF alongside a strong delegation from the Humber. Representatives from all four of our local authorities – Hull City Council, East Riding Council, North Lincolnshire Council and North East Lincolnshire Council – attended the conference, joined by private sector organisations including ABP, CATCH, Sewell Group, Wykeland Group and many more.
Together, we form a compelling, aligned voice for our region. The Humber is the place to invest, and UKREiiF was the perfect platform to prove it!
