Our vision is to be a major catalyst in the development of the Humber economy with a key objective being to accelerate our community’s prosperity. Established as a central Government initiative the Humber Freeport is targeted with helping to address regional economic imbalances through attracting trade, Investment and innovation to the Humber.

Humber Freeport has been in operation for 18 months and has already attracted over £1.2bn of investment helping to create over 700 new employment opportunities. It is now a fully-fledged, unconditional Freeport operating from the Humber Estuary and is a public / private sector company limited by guarantee. Its primary portfolio of products includes, Tax Sites, Customs Sites, Seed Capital and an Investment Fund. In addition, it operates three theme groups of Net Zero, Skills and Innovation. To reflect the Estuary’s core strengths key market positioning is around energy and advanced manufacturing. The core tax sites reflect that positioning.

Career opportunities now exist to become part of an exciting, new and dynamic team to further the Freeport’s aims and objectives. We are recruiting for three new roles:


Investment Manager

The Investment Manager will work with existing companies and partner organisations to develop and deliver investment propositions to attract investment into the Humber Freeport Tax Site areas.

This role will lead on the development and implementation of the action plan for attracting inward investors, building on the strategy as set out in the Final Business Case and the existing and evolving generic marketing schedule.

Work will also involve collaboration with board members and Government departments including the Department of Business and Trade to develop investor propositions targeting key identified sectors and communicating the Humber’s competitive advantage. Central to this work will be the development of supply chains and associated data analysis techniques profiling prospective investment targets.

  • Salary £57,000 – £62,000 pa

Programme, Partnerships and Contracts Manager

The Programme, Partnerships and Contracts Manager will be responsible for the development and management of programmes, partnerships and contracts supporting the Humber Freeport and partners sustainable growth and development.

This role is also accountable for the delivery and assurance of Humber Freeport capital and revenue programmes.

The role will also demand excellent partnership skills and the ongoing liaison with partners, theme groups and external stakeholders.

  • Salary £57,000 – 62,000 pa

Executive Support

The Executive Support role will manage an executive level of business support, research information and relationship management for the Humber Freeport Company Limited’s management team, currently planned as 3 personnel.

The role will include the ability to co-ordinate communication, information and presentations on behalf of the management team to enable the company to contribute effectively to its vision and development plan.

  • Salary £28,000 – £30,000 pa

Employment terms

  • Employment arrangement tailored to your circumstances: options include secondment, fixed-term, or permanent.
  • Based in the Humber region, with the flexibility to work from home part of the week.
  • Local Authority terms and conditions (Currently seeking admitted body status through the East Riding Pension Fund)
  • Flexible working arrangements, but with a requirement to travel across the Humber Estuary on a regular basis, with occasional when applicable international travel.
  • Start date as soon as possible
