Thank you to everyone who joined us for the official launch of Humber Freeport.
The special event, hosted at ABP’s historic Victorian Pump House at the Port of Hull, included speeches from our Chair Simon Bird, the Head of UK Freeports Michael Green, our Interim CEO Simon Green and Sewell Estates MD Jo Barnes.
Conversation ranged from the size of the opportunity freeport status presents to the Humber and the benefits for companies investing in freeport tax and customs sites, to how freeports can be a driver of regeneration and economic growth.
The Humber Freeport board has now been appointed, and three workstreams have been established under the themes of decarbonisation, skills and innovation. These workstreams will drive Humber Freeport’s strategic direction and ensure the region maximises the opportunities which will arise from freeport status.
