Businesses across the Humber are being invited to bid for a share of a £30m fund to support innovation and clean energy projects.
The £30m Local Innovation Partnerships Fund (LIPF) programme will support innovative research and development activities related to clean energy and industrial decarbonisation.
Humber Freeport was part of a consortium of partners which came together to successfully bid for the funding, operated by Government body UK Research and Innovation (UKRI).
Now, businesses can apply for funding through the programme, to accelerate projects which can drive long-term economic growth, supply chain development and the creation of well-paid jobs.
Projects are being invited in areas including offshore wind, hydrogen, sustainable aviation fuels, waste-to-energy and carbon capture and storage. The funding is also available to businesses in Teesside.
Luke Campbell MBE, Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire, said: “The Humber and Teesside have the opportunity to be at the heart of global innovation and investment in clean energy, and this programme will enable our local industry to grasp that opportunity.
“We encourage all relevant businesses to apply to be a part of our portfolio so that we can drive growth and create jobs in the Humber, and show that we can be a truly world-leading region.”

Luke Campbell MBE, Mayor of Hull and East Yorkshire.
The Local Innovation Partnerships Fund is operated by UKRI, and forms part of the record £86bn commitment from Government to research and development activities until 2030.
Partners involved in the successful bid for funding include the Hull and East Yorkshire Combined Authority, the University of Hull, the University of Lincoln, Humber Freeport, Humber Energy Board and industry training provider CATCH.
