We’d like to introduce our Humber Freeport Future Ambassador … Rian Patel.
Rian is the CEO and Founder of VEDA, a technology consultancy and software development company which works with SMEs to support them with digital transformation and AI adoption.
Having grown up in Hull, in the HU5 area, Rian’s passion for technology started at a young age, when he became interested in the latest gadgets and innovations.
As he started studying at the University of Hull, the acceleration of AI adoption in business was in full swing. It gave him the perfect opportunity to combine his love of technology and digital with his entrepreneurial spark.
VEDA has now been running for two years, helping businesses with software, intelligent automation and AI. It’s about supporting companies to work smarter, and more efficiently, embracing digital technology to drive growth.
Rian’s ethos, driven by innovation and business growth, is why he has been selected to be our Future Ambassador.
He’ll be joining us at UKREiiF in Leeds on May 19 and 20, helping us fly the flag for the Humber region as a place to live, work and invest.
Rian said: “I’m very proud of this region, and to have grown up here. I’m passionate about Hull, and want more young people to see the career prospects that are available, and the life they can build here.
“It’s about raising aspirations, building confidence in young people, and showing them that if they stick around here, it’s a great place to live and work.
“It’s fantastic to be attending UKREiiF with Humber Freeport. The calibre of people at the conference, and the connections I’ll make, will be hugely valuable, and I’m looking forward to learning more about the region’s investment proposition.”
Rian said VEDA’s approach was centred on “chaos to clarity” – helping businesses identify bottlenecks and barriers to growth, and implement the technologies which unlock their potential.

Rian Patel is our Humber Freeport Future Ambassador.
VEDA helps businesses remove friction, review their processes make the strategic decisions which increase revenue capacity, improve efficiency and grow their digital exposure.
“Businesses coming into the region, like those investing in Freeport sites, create new opportunities and show people different industries and career paths.
“Having exposure to these large companies can help young people see more pathways to success. You look at the impact companies like Siemens have had in Hull, and the number of opportunities they have provided.
“We need to make sure our SMEs in the region know how to access these companies, and become a part of their supply chain. SMEs are the beating heart of our region’s economy, and it’s so important they benefit from the major investments which Humber Freeport is helping to attract.”
If you’re at UKREiiF this week, make sure to connect with Rian via the conference’s Delegate Directory.
He’ll also be around at Freeport sessions during UKREiiF. Make sure to say hello!
